Not sure how much longer any solution will work with that rust developing around the overflow hole, but that's for another day I guess. The second one is similar to the hard rubber one from Home Depot, but less of a taper. One has same dimensions and taper as original from Home Depot, but is a softer, black foam, so it may give more at the bottom to allow for a better seal up top. I stopped by a plumbing supply place on the way to work this morning, and picked up two different gaskets. It's kinda hard to see from your picture, but I'm wondering if the pipe coming from the shoe might have been cut too long.Could be.
However, the difference isn't enough to accommodate the angle of the gasket I got from Home Depot.
